Captain Alex grew up near Milwaukee, Wisconsin boating around the many inland lake along with Lake Michigan. He started teaching sailing in college of small dinghies small keelboats and windsurfer. After college he started a career as a chemist but continued sailing on his own San Juan 30 all over the great lakes. Once he achieved a captains license and some ASA instructor certifications he moved to Anacortes WA to pursue a career as full time professional captain. He began his new career as a charter captain/Sailing instructor for a few charter companies around the San Juan Islands and the British Virgin islands. Alex can now be found almost anywhere in the world captaining sail and motor yachts of all sizes. When he is not sailing he likes to kiteboard, paraglide, mountaineer, and snowboard.
